Milwaukee Admirals 2017-18 Season Preview Redux

It wasn’t exactly that long ago that the 2017-18 Season Preview was published. Yet, so much has already been solved or shaken up, it feels as though another speed run through the Milwaukee Admirals is required. Yesterday’s news cycle alone almost demands it. When viewing the landscape of the AHL this season: it’s as talent filled as the league perhaps had ever been. The competition is going to be tremendous. There will be no better reflection of that than the AHL’s Central Division. And the Admirals are going to be a huge player within that murderer’s row of teams.

Gaudreau & Kamenev Assigned to Milwaukee

The Nashville Predators have officially set their Opening Night roster. In the process the Predators assigned both Frédérick Gaudreau and Vladislav Kamenev to the Milwaukee Admirals. The Predators start their season Thursday night on the road against the Boston Bruins. The Admirals open of their season on the road this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, against the Iowa Wild.

This is the final week of Milwaukee Admirals Training Camp before the 2017-18 season officially begins this weekend. The Admirals will start this year’s campaign off on the road Saturday and Sunday against the Iowa Wild at the Wells Fargo Arena. Before getting there the team still has a bit of roster shuffling to sort out. In fact, that storyline received a pleasant swerve while today’s practice was in session.

Admirals Make Initial Roster Cuts

The Milwaukee Admirals have shaken up their Training Camp Roster ahead of tonight’s pre-season contest against the Chicago Wolves at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The Admirals have reassigned Angelo Miceli and Trevor Mingoia to the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL. The team also released Erik Bradford, Brandon Denham, and T.J. Melancon from their professional try-out contracts.

Following last night’s pre-season 4-3 victory on the road against the Rockford IceHogs things shifted back to the MSOE Kern Center this afternoon. Today was mainly a “Skills” day with Scott Nichol, the Nashville Predators Director of Player Development, running point. It was a good session between the Admirals two pre-season contests. The Admirals will host the Chicago Wolves at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena at 6:00 PM CST tomorrow night.

Allard & Admirals Power Back; Win 4-3 in Rockford

The Milwaukee Admirals won 4-3 against the Rockford IceHogs on the road at the BMO Harris Bank Center on Thursday night.

It started pretty. It had a terrible middle. But the Admirals struck in rapid succession in the third period to snag a win in Rockford tonight. The Admirals power-play delivered three times tonight including a pair of power-play goals for Frédéric Allard.

The Milwaukee Admirals are a day away from the first of their two pre-season contests. As far as forward lines and defensive pairings are concerned – things didn’t change from Day 1 on Day 2 of Training Camp. The thought was Cody Bass would be arriving today after being placed on waivers Monday -but- the veteran forward isn’t in Milwaukee just yet.
