Following the initial roster cuts made by the Nashville Predators and a successful pre-season game on the road against the Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday: the next wave of cuts have arrived. Today’s roster moves come on the eve of Training Camp opening up for the Milwaukee Admirals tomorrow. There will now be an additional nine players added to that group participating at the MSOE Kern Center.
Today’s roster moves include: Alex Carrier, Jack Dougherty, Petter Granberg, Pierre-Cédric Labrie, Anders Lindbäck, Andrew O’Brien, Emil Pettersson, Trevor Smith, and Yakov Trenin. With the arrival of Lindbäck it means Training Camp in Milwaukee will feature all three competing goaltenders from Day 1 until the decision is made on who stays in Milwaukee and who ends up with the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL.
The current roster for the Predators now is rather trimmed. Those still competing with the Predators in their Pre-Season include: Cody Bass, Frédérick Gaudreau, Samuel Girard, and Vladislav Kamenev. There should be more cuts to come -but- both the Predators and Admirals have a pair of pre-season games to be played in the coming week on Thursday and Saturday night. We shall await the next wave of cuts and to see who sticks it out for the Predators Opening Night roster.
UPDATE: Cody Bass has been placed on waivers. After the twenty-four hour process is complete he would be assigned to the Milwaukee Admirals but would likely not participate in practice until Wednesday at the earliest.
