Air-brushing maestro David Gunnarsson of DaveArt is at it again for our goaltenders here in Milwaukee. The man that has made masks for Pekka RinneDrew MacIntyreAnders LindbäckJeremy SmithChet PickardMark DekanichZoltan Hetenyi, and Magnus Hellberg – has now made his third mask for Marek Mazanec and second specific to the Admirals.

The new mask for Mazanec is fairly similar to Hellberg‘s latest mask. If I’m honest, I think I still prefer his previous Admirals mask just because it was a much cleaner design. That said, the two-tone grill the mask has really pops. I dig that.

I also think it’s safe to speculate that a new set of Vaughn goaltending gear is in the works for Mazanec. Going all the way back to the day that I went in for Hellberg’s feature interview – Mazanec was testing out and sizing up lots of the equipment pictured above. He ditched Reebok//CCM gear this off-season for Vaughn. Perhaps a more flashy and Admiral themed set is also in the cards just as he did last season when he upped the ante on his gear.

Thoughts on the new mask for Marek Mazanec? Where does it stack up from the masks listed above?
