Bucks Release Schedule

The Milwaukee Bucks have released their schedule….so now we know what days we WON’T be spending at the BMO Harris Bradley Center this year.

And more specifically….it seems that many of those days will be Saturdays once again this season….at least through the end of 2012.

The Bucks will be home the following Saturdays:

November 3, 10, 17, 24
December 1, 15, 22, 29
January 26
February 2, 9, 23
March 2, 30
April 6

So they get the arena every Saturday in November, December, and February, except for two.

Grumble.  Obviously, this isn’t a new development….but still….grumble.

  1. Don’t the admirals still have to pay a huge amount to the bucks to play on a saturday? If its more cost effective for the Admirals to play on Friday nights, I have no problem not playing on Saturdays.

  2. Not sure about the financials…But a bunch of Sunday games might be rough on attendance during football season….

  3. My understanding of the Admirals agreement is that they pay $10K rent for a weekend game, defined as Saturday or Sunday. Their season starts two weeks before the Bucks, so they can get in a few weekend games ahead of the Bucks, just like every other season. Last season the Ads had Sunday home games on Oct 30, Nov 13 & 20, Dec 11 & 18, Jan 1 & 15, Feb 12 & 26, March 25, April 1 & 15. They averaged 6226 fans per home game overall for the season. That would have been 6 games during the Packers season and 2 more during the playoffs! Most of those games were played at 5 PM so you can watch the Packers on TV and drive down to see the Admirals. The last four Sundays were played at 3 PM. The season after the Cup, Milwaukee played 3 Sunday home games instead of 12.

  4. Sunday games suck. 5 o’clock is bad enough, but the 3 o’clock games were even worse. They end up killing the whole afternoon to where you can’t really do anything else…
