The Milwaukee Admirals have recalled defenseman Rick Pinkston from the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL. This recall comes after the Admirals defense has taken a hit between trading away Andrew O’Brien and have seen recent hard knocks to Trevor Murphy and Joonas Lyytinen.
Pinkston signed with the Milwaukee Admirals to an AHL contract in the most recent off-season. He started his season off as a member of the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL. Pinkston played 17 games with Norfolk registering only 2 assists and having a plus/minus of -12.
Once the Nashville Predators terminated the ECHL affiliation agreement with Norfolk Pinkston was loaned to the Atlanta Gladiators in the ECHL. He has done much better in the Atlanta outfit having produced 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists) in 29 games with a plus/minus of +11.
This will be the first spell up with the Milwaukee Admirals in 2017-18 for Pinkston. Last season he played 20 games and notched 2 assist with the Admirals. From one year to the next Pinkston has switched his Admirals numeral from #15 to #7.
