The Milwaukee Admirals were at it once again at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena this morning. Today is the last proper practice ahead of the team’s first three-in-three weekend of the season that starts with their final home game ahead of the Christmas break.

The forward lines were identical to what rolled out yesterday. And, once again, the defensive pairings were changing across the board. While it might sound better to have set lines and pairings? By the end of the season all of these players will come to grips with being out on the ice at the same exact time with one another. This is pretty much an extension of that and building familiarity.

What has really stood out the most for me this week at practice has been the positive energy this team is showing. The last month or so has been a grind. It would be really for any one guy to hang their head and beat them self up. These last two days just came across like everyone knows what is going on, they’re battling and learning together, and getting ready to turn a corner.

The buzzword at practice was “crisp” for the overall execution and way the entire team was passing. I have really high hopes that practice this week trickles into this weekend’s three-in-three. That doesn’t mean they’re going to blow anyone out of the water but I expect the basics to be far more smooth and to see progression one game at a time.

After practice I had the chance to speak with Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason. I then turned it over to our Facebook page for interview suggestions and chatted with Tyler Kelleher, Pierre-Cédric Labrie, Jack Dougherty, and Tyler Moy. These were today’s interviews following practice at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

What are you expecting for this weekend’s three-in-three? Do you at all fear that the Milwaukee Admirals are looking past the Iowa Wild with the Grand Rapids Griffins looming on Saturday?
