Zolnierczyk Signs PTO Contract with Florida

There have been a few lingering names from last year’s squad that remain free agents. One of the most notable names on that queue has just come off the board. Harry Zolnierczyk has officially signed a professional try-out (PTO) contract with the Florida Panthers ahead of their 2017-18 Pre-Season.

Zolnierczyk was signed to a one-year, two-way contract by the Nashville Predators last season. He managed to make good on that two-way deal by suiting up in 24 games for both the NHL and AHL. With the Milwaukee Admirals he managed to produce 16 points (6 goals, 10 assists) at the AHL level. Meanwhile, Zolnierczyk’s 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) for the Predators weren’t his lone contributions in the NHL. He also added 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) in 11 games during the 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

It is worth noting that this is a PTO Contract that Zolnierczyk has been signed to. It isn’t a confirmation of a certified contract but more of a way to invite him to the Panthers Pre-Season Training Camp. Should he show well? He might earn himself a two-way contract. Should he not? It will be quite interesting to see if he falls back into the clutches of the AHL or proceeds to head over to Europe.
