According to AHL Transactions the Milwaukee Admirals have release forward A.J. White from his amateur try-out (ATO) contract. This move comes two days after White suited up in the Admirals regular season finale which was his fifth appearance with the team.
White joined the Admirals from UMass-Lowell where he had just finished his college playing career. He had played 153 games at UMass-Lowell and contributed 79 points (28 goals, 51 assists). He also happened to be teammates at the college program with current Admiral Joe Pendenza. White made his professional playing debut with the Admirals on 4/2/16 in Milwaukee against the San Antonio Rampage. In his five appearances with the team he didn’t score a point of offense, didn’t take a penalty, and had a plus/minus rating of -3 which all came in his last two outings of the season.

What is your take on this transaction Daniel? For a team poised to hopefully make a long postseason run, it seems the roster is pretty thin, 13 forwards include injured Hodgson and Richard. If Murphy is 12th forward then Aronson needs to play or else a very green rookie defenseman suits up. White was no veteran himself, but he didn’t look out of place in the games he played and the team has no hope of getting Bass or Arvidsson back anytime soon.
Glenn: Richard had been skating since his arrival to Milwaukee. I think they just wanted to be as safe as possible. So, if he is healthy, he’s due a game and will be make his pro debut in the playoffs. I know Evason is quite high on his abilities. He’ll be here starting next season. It would add a new wrinkle to the forward group that Grand Rapids wouldn’t have seen before. That’s a neat thing to have. I feel like Murphy could contribute on wing in the playoffs, if needed, but the problem with that is requiring a Dougherty or Irving to play. I’m not anticipating Aronson or Hodgson back until I hear otherwise from the team and Alm is done for the season with a knee injury. It would almost be tempting to recall Noonan but we’ll see. I’m not planning on attending practice until at least Wednesday. That should give more of an idea what’s going on… especially because I spied two players are here that aren’t under contract at all: Janne Juvonen and I’m pretty sure I saw a dead ringer for Joonas Lyytinen as well. Juvonen had a locker set with all his goaltending gear after the last home game and then I saw him in person in Rockford along with the Lyytinen look alike. Sort of odd to have guys here that aren’t technically here but I remember when Tommy Veilleux had a uniform prepped two seasons ago before he had to back out of joining the Ads due to an injury. …weird times, really.
