It’s Official…Scott Ford Is Back

Paul Fenton hinted to it earlier this week.  It was officially announced today.  Scott Ford is back with the Admirals.

It’s an AHL deal instead of an NHL deal, unlike the one he signed last year with St. Louis.

Here’s Aaron Sims talking to Fordo today.

So Roundtable, are you happy that he’s back?  Does the -18 from last year scare you (although the vast majority of that came from Peoria…as you know, they weren’t very good), or do you think the veteran leadership trumps all of that?

  1. Happy he’s back! He should be the Captain again, his leadership is important to our prospects adjustments to starting their pro career. I don’t worry about -18 like stated that was a lot to do with a under acheiving rivermen squad. Ford is a staple to this organization, he brings a lot of intagibles to a young group of guys.

  2. Agree with frontrowjon. Happy to have him back. He brings a lot of leadership skills that I’m sure were put to the test over the last couple seasons. I also agree that his +/- was largely a function of being with Peoria much of the year. All that said, not surprised it’s an AHL-only deal. As long as the Ads keep him happy, though, good for us!

  3. He’s a nice guy and brings leadership to the team. But he’s a liability on the ice. Sorry, but it’s true.
