The Milwaukee Admirals won 3-2 in a shootout against the Cleveland Monsters at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Wednesday night.

For the first time this season the Admirals played in overtime. One better, this game required a shootout to decide things. The Admirals saw a 2-0 lead go away but the two who shined the brightest on the night, Anders Lindbäck and Bobby Butler, would polish off the victory in the shootout tonight. The win stops a two game skid for the Admirals.

“We were real happy with the way our compete was tonight,” commented Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason after the game. “We systematically weren’t as good as we’ve been. Our structure was a little loose. Thank goodness [Lindbäck] was outstanding.”

The Milwaukee Admirals lost 3-1 on the road against the Cleveland Monsters at the Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday night.

Perhaps the story of this game was summed up in the opening period: the Admirals power-play was off, the Monsters penalty kill was excellent. The Admirals failed on all six chances on the man-advantage tonight. Joonas Korpisalo for the Monsters was seconds away from perfection on the night. And the Admirals have dropped consecutive games for the first time since the overlap from October to November.

The Milwaukee Admirals lost 5-3 on the road against the Cleveland Monsters at the Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday night.

This was an incredibly sloppy game on the part of the Admirals. The Monsters entered this game as the second lowest scoring team in the AHL and they skated circles around the Admirals in the second period to mark a rude “Welcome Back” to Juuse Saros. Since the start of November, a seven game stretch, the Admirals have been on a run of loss-win-loss. Consistency in execution is lacking right now.

The Milwaukee Admirals won 3-2 on the road against the Chicago Wolves at the Allstate Arena on Sunday afternoon.

After a rough game last night the Admirals really wanted an attitude adjustment today. They saw that with a much better team effort, a multi-goal game from Pontus Åberg, and another fantastic performance in net by Anders Lindbäck that put the Admirals right back into the win column.

The Milwaukee Admirals lost 5-2 against the Rockford IceHogs at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Saturday night.

This entire game felt like a frantic scramble in which the IceHogs had just that little bit more quality tonight. The longer the game wore on the worse the Admirals played. And a desperate IceHogs team took advantage of that to snap a four-game losing streak.

“Their team played with a lot of pace,” said Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason of the Rockford IceHogs. “They didn’t have a good game last night. We knew they were coming in here desperate and hungry. We’re so fortunate to even be involved in that game because of our goaltender. [Anders Lindbäck] was exceptional.”

The Milwaukee Admirals won 3-0 against the Chicago Wolves at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Wednesday morning.

These AM games for the Admirals have always provided an incredible atmosphere. Today’s School Day Game did it again as the Admirals exploded for three goals in the first period and then Anders Lindbäck closed the door to earn his first shutout of the season.

“What we liked was how desperate our group was,” said Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason after the game. “When we made mistakes we were very desperate to block shots. The most desperate guy, and our leader, Lindbäck was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. Real happy with the effort for sure.”

The Milwaukee Admirals lost 2-1 on the road against the Grand Rapids Griffins at the Van Andel Arena on Sunday afternoon.

There were similarities to the Admirals and Griffins first encounter on Wednesday night. More than anything this was a carbon copy of last Sunday in Chicago. The Admirals were holding to a 1-0 lead into the third period before conceding a pair of power-play goals. It spoiled a great effort in net for Matt O’Connor and continued the whacky winning ways of the Griffins over the Admirals.

The Milwaukee Admirals won 3-1 against the Rockford IceHogs at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Friday night.

After dropping two straight games. After not looking themselves on Wednesday night on home ice against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Tonight the Admirals played a strong defensive game, headlined again by a strong performance by Anders Lindbäck, and returned to winning ways.

“It’s one of our best games certainly this year,” commented Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason after the game. “We’ve played some good hockey but what we really like is it backs up one of our worst game of the year. We responded really well. Everything that we talked about the other night against Grand Rapids was completely opposite tonight.”

The Milwaukee Admirals lost 6-3 against the Grand Rapids Griffins at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Wednesday night.

This game was a sloppy one for the Admirals. And the Griffins were simply relentless. The Griffins outshot the Admirals 43-20 tonight. The Admirals looked sluggish from the off and they’ve now lost two straight games.

“I don’t know if it’s what they did or what we didn’t do,” said Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason of tonight’s game. “Right from the drop of the puck the only guy that was ready to play this hockey game was [Anders Lindbäck]. It could have been 6-2 after the first period.”

The Milwaukee Admirals lost 2-1 on the road against the Chicago Wolves at the Allstate Arena on Saturday night.

The Admirals were able to take an early lead tonight in Chicago. Unfortunately, the Wolves would score twice inside of two-minutes in the third period to claim victory tonight. It’s the first road defeat of the season for the Admirals as well as the first loss in net for Anders Lindbäck.
