The Milwaukee Admirals won 2-1 in overtime on the road against the Grand Rapids Griffins at the Van Andel Arena on Saturday night.
This may not exactly have been the most electric or offensive of games to sit back and watch but this may have been the performance the Admirals have needed. They stayed composed defensively and managed to get the overtime win in a building that has so often caused them troubles.

The Milwaukee Admirals fell 3-2 in overtime against the Iowa Wild at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Friday night.
The Admirals started out strong with an early power-play goal but caught some unfortunate breaks thereafter. The Wild eventually tied up the game on a debatable no-call for goaltender interference in the first period. After exchanging goals one last time the Wild eventually prevailed in overtime on Sam Anas’ second goal of the night.
“We liked the way that we hung around and scrapped,” stated Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason after the game. “We played real good in the third period. Second period wasn’t so good. Obviously they played well, as well, but we weren’t disappointed with a lot of things that happened in that game tonight.”
The Milwaukee Admirals fell 6-1 on the road against the Manitoba Moose at the Bell MTS Place on Sunday afternoon.
After the first period there were plenty of reasons to feel optimistic for the Admirals. They earned a 1-0 lead from Tyler Kelleher. Juuse Saros was terrific. And then the second period started and the Moose would proceed to outshoot the Admirals 43-33 and score six unanswered goals. It was rough. It has been rough. This game summed up the best of the worst for the Admirals as of late.
The Milwaukee Admirals won 4-3 in a shootout on the road against the Manitoba Moose at the Bell MTS Place on Saturday afternoon.
The Admirals three-game winless skid? The Moose nine-game winning streak? They’re both over. The Admirals rallied back from down 3-1 this afternoon in Manitoba to beat one of the hottest teams in the AHL in their own barn in comeback fashion.
The Milwaukee Admirals lost 5-2 against the San Diego Gulls at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Tuesday night.
As far as rough outings go this game ranks pretty high on the 2017-18 season. The Admirals were outworked for the better majority of this contest and a late push from the leadership combo of Trevor Smith, Bobby Butler, and Harry Zolnierczyk is what prevented this from becoming the first time since 2005 where the Admirals were shutout in consecutive games.
“It’s a struggle for us right now to find offense,” Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason stated after the game. “We’re not generating a whole lot of five-on-five. We have to find a way to get more pucks to the net.”
The Milwaukee Admirals were shutout 3-0 on the road against the Hershey Bears at the Giant Center on Saturday night.
For the second time in four games the Admirals have been shutout. The offense struggled to get going against the Bears and Vitek Vanecek was strong when called upon to earn a twenty-one save shutout tonight. The Admirals end a three-game road trip with a 1-1-1-0 record.
The Milwaukee Admirals lost 5-4 in overtime on the road against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
Despite a first period hat trick by Garrett Wilson for the Penguins the Admirals were able to fight back and force overtime by the end of regulation. The Admirals battled so strongly in the third period to earn a point tonight but Jean-Sébastien Dea would get a shot high glove on Juuse Saros for the game-winning goal in overtime tonight. The win for the Penguins snapped a two-game skid and goes down as the first career win for goaltende Colin Stevens.
The Milwaukee Admirals won 4-2 on the road against the Iowa Wild at the Wells Fargo Arena on Tuesday night.
It’s been awhile since the depth pieces for the Admirals really factored into the offensive efforts. That would change tonight as Mark Zengerle recorded a three-point night and Trevor Mingoia would score on his Milwaukee Admirals debut for his first career AHL goal. This all happened in front of, once again, another gem for Anders Lindbäck who made forty saves to win his eleventh game from fifteen starts.
The Milwaukee Admirals were shutout 3-0 against the Manitoba Moose at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Saturday night.
For the first time this season the Admirals have been shutout. Their power-play went blank from seven opportunities and timely offense on the part of the Moose extended their winning streak to six straight games.
“Certainly, the second period we have them four shots – and we’re down 2-0,” said Milwaukee Admirals head coach Dean Evason after the game. “For the most part we probably out-chanced them, their goaltender played well, but it’s one of the first time that we probably say we didn’t look like we were going to score. The offense let us down tonight.”

The Milwaukee Admirals won 3-2 in overtime against the Chicago Wolves at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Friday night.
The Admirals trailed by a pair of goals after two period. Harry Zolnierczyk would score twice in the third period to force overtime where Bobby Butler would net tonight’s game-winner in a strong comeback performance.
“I wouldn’t say it was a complete sixty-minutes but the third period is the way we want to play our hockey here,” said Zolnierczyk after the game. “If we can consistently put periods like that together then this team will be successful.”
